Day 64 May 19th

This morning I was able to take my run in a short sleeve shirt again! It was foggy but warm and peaceful.

Today was a busy work day including a meeting that added more work:) We have decided to do the senior awards via zoom so we will be preparing for that for the next couple of days. I also had my last zoom today with my students, it was their last day of school. We were all very sad. One of the girls I work with a lot had organized a little presentation for me with pictures from other students thanking me for helping them this year! It definitely brought a tear to my eye! They are so special to me! I can’t wait to see them all next year.

The highlights of the day were finding laundry in the closed off laundry shoot. I closed it off about a year ago at the bottom of the shoot but the top was still open in the closet. The best thing is we found Alaina’s full body Troll pj’s that have been missing! We also were able to make some clean ice cream with the new blender that finally arrived! We have been waiting for a long time. We have a lineup of recipes to try!

Final thoughts and challenge: I was a little off all day and I think it is because I didn’t have time to fit in my second workout after my run. I do believe I am starting to become a bit addicted to working out. I know that sounds crazy but it is almost like my body craves it or needs it to stabilize my mood.  I need to keep an eye on this to be sure I am not becoming unhealthy in my thought patterns or my priorities. I know it is just to help give me something to control or to make myself feel better but still.

On that note, one of my fitness group friends invited me to a MURPH. “The Murph WOD is a hero workout named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy,” explains Blake Shutterly, a CrossFit coach at Neo Fifth in NYC. … The CrossFit Murph workout itself consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another one-mile run, all done consecutively.” Mensjournal.com.   Of course I couldn’t say no so that is what I am doing on Saturday instead of my long run! I might die!

Are you picking up an addictive habit that you know in the back of your head could lead to problems? Should you address this? Do you need to get a handle on it before it takes control of you?
