Day 98 June 22nd

It was a foggy morning! It was a bit difficult to see too far ahead! I went out for my run anyway! I got a couple of miles in and then completed the workout with my group. We are starting a new month in the challenge we are in so I am excited to see what new workouts we have for the next few weeks.

I had another themed God time today! Everything I read pertained to our thoughts, and becoming who we are in Christ.  The main idea, and this is nothing new, but basically we become what we think on. Pastor John Mark encouraged us to think on things of the Lord.  He pointed out that physiologically we can change our brian chemistry based on what things we are thinking about which in turn can change our perspective and outlook in life. It is important that we think about the things that are good and positive!

Today was a crazy and busy day.  Addie and I had quite an adventure and Parker had a friend reach out to Facetime! I rented a truck to take some things up to Michigan to my family and then to bring down some things we need for the house remodel. Part of what we took up to Michigan were a bunch of flagstone bricks. So we loaded that in the back of the Uhaul along with the other things we were taking.

On the trip up, I found a radio station with some music from when I was Addie’s age! She suffered through it with me as I gave her all kinds of history of the musicians and songs. She is so much more cultured after learning about Whitney Housten and George Michael 🙂

When we got to Michigan it started to rain, which made it hard to visit with family outside while social distancing so Addie and I had to keep moving. We made four different stops before heading back home. We got to see my mom, step-dad and grandpa, my sister and the cousins and my dad all from a distance. Addie was beyond thrilled. She has not been to Michigan for months and we usually go at least once a month. Before leaving town we went through the drive through of Taco Bell to say hi to my teenage sisters who were working. Of course we had to tease them while ordering! It was so funny! Addie and I had a really great time together and I was grateful for the time with her.

Final thoughts and challenge:  This morning I was challenged by the podcast. There are some areas of my life that I need to listen to my self talk and replace it with God’s truth and positive thoughts. I think of Philipians 4:8 as a guide of where to start with my thought patterns, “8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Do you have any areas in your thoughts that you can focus on changing?  Can Philippians 4:8 help you to focus your thoughts?
